Jim Fowlers 'Life In The Wild'

Noted naturalist and wild life educator Jim Fowler is laying plans for the  development of a 1,200 acre “Life in the Wild” wildlife park.  Guests will go on a safari in specially constructed vehicles through natural habitats.  The animals will roam free and visitors will be totally immersed in the world of nature.  This development is planned for Bonifay, FL, directly north of Panama City Beach.

National Audubon Society Nature Center and West Bay Preservation Area

In association with the development of the New International Airport, the St. Joe Company and National Audubon Society are studying the feasibility of establishing a state-of-the-art world class nature center.  The West Bay Preservation Area will eventually preserve more than 40,000 acres.

The plan’s objective is to preserve West Bay County forever.  The proposed restoration and nature center site would initially utilize as much as 7,000 acres on the south shore of West Bay and provide a multi-functional facility designed to promote environmental education, experiences, research and stewardship consistent with the National Audubon Society.

Sports fans come year-round to Panama City Beach for baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, cheerleading, gymnastics, marathons, triathlons and water sports.  Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach has a new $6-million state-of-the-art aquatic center, offering a 50-meter, Olympic-size outdoor pool; splash pool with play features; concessions, and classrooms.  Frank Brown hosts the World Softball League North American Championship and the United States Fastpitch Association A&B World Series.

Dedicating more than 200 acres to outdoor recreation, Frank Brown Park furnishes a 22-acre festival site, 1.5 miles of wooded jogging and biking trails, nine full-size baseball/softball diamonds designed for tournament-level play, five lighted soccer fields, four multi-purpose football fields, two lighted T-ball fields, a lighted basketball court, 2.5-mile jogging track, tennis courts, shuffle-board courts, playground, picnic areas, fishing lake and a pier.
